What’s the Cart Club and how does it work?
Birch Bay Cart Club is a membership program to Birch Bay Carts and Rentals. It’s designed to offer locals & summer residents an opportunity to have a golf cart on the days they want one, without the trouble of buying one or the cost of renting at full price. Buy credits to join the club, use those credits on golf cart rentals, and save money compared to buying a cart or renting at regular rates! Here are just a few perks:

FAQs
Membership Basics
What is the Birch Bay Cart Club?
A season membership that gives you rental credits at the start of the season, redeemable toward golf cart rentals all summer — always at a discount off our standard rates.
How much does it cost to join?
There are three tiers: $800 for 10 credits, $1,500 for 20 credits, or $2,250 for 30 credits.
Is there a minimum age to join?
Yes, members must be 18 or older.
Does my membership renew automatically?
No — membership runs for one season only. You'll need to re-enroll and pay again each year.
Booking & Reservations
How far ahead can I book?
Members can book up to 12 months in advance — well ahead of the general public's 60-day window.
How do I make a reservation?
Call, text, or email us and we'll book it for you based on availability.
Is a cart guaranteed to be available when I want one?
No — membership gives you priority booking tools, but everything is still subject to actual fleet availability.
What's the cancellation policy?
Cancel 48+ hours ahead and your credits are returned. Cancel later, or no-show, and we reserve the right to keep the credits.
What if it rains on my rental day?
We can't guarantee a refund, but we're flexible and understanding — just give us a call.
How does the July 4th reservation work?
It's handled separately due to demand — members express interest, and if there's more interest than carts, we run a random drawing no later than 2 weeks before the 4th.
What happens if I win a July 4th cart and don't show up?
You'll be invoiced the full retail rate for that cart (currently $180 for a 4-seater, $240 for a 6-seater) in addition to losing the credits.
Sharing, Liability, and Waivers
Can my family use my credits?
Yes — you book it under your name, and you remain responsible for the cart and for making sure whoever drives is eligible and knows the rules.
Can I sell or give my membership to someone else?
No — the membership itself is non-transferable, though sharing usage with family is fine.
Can other people use my cart, not just family?
Yes — you can authorize anyone to use your credits, not just family. You still book it under your name, and you're responsible for the cart and for making sure the driver is eligible and knows the rules.
Do I still need to sign a waiver every time I rent?
Yes — the Membership Agreement doesn't replace the Rental Agreement & Liability Waiver, which is required for every rental regardless of how it's paid for.
Payment
Do I have to pay in full upfront?
No — a $100 deposit holds your spot, with the balance due by May 1.
What if I don't finish paying by May 1?
We reserve the right to cancel the membership, and any amount already paid is treated per our cancellation policy.
Can I cancel and get a refund?
Yes, in full (minus the $100 deposit) if you cancel by April 14. After April 15, refunds aren't guaranteed, since that's when we make fleet decisions based on enrollment.
Perks & Extras
What discounts do members get in-store?
10% off merchandise and non-cart rentals like kayaks and paddleboards, bikes, and yard games! This discount is on top of any other discount we're offering and will persist through April 30.
Do I get a physical membership card?
Yes — show it in-store for your discount, though your member number works too if you don't have it on you.
Other
What happens to my credits if BBCR ever has to stop operating mid-season?
The same no-refund-guarantee policy applies — there's no special pro-rated refund built in.
If I cancel and have remaining credits, do they have cash value?
Not on their own — credits themselves don't have a standalone dollar value or payout. If you cancel your whole membership by April 14, you get a refund of what you paid (minus the $100 deposit). After April 15, there's no refund, and unused credits simply expire at season's end either way.
Can I rent for an event outside Birch Bay?
Usually, but you'll want to check with us. We frequently rent carts for events such as weddings, graduation parties, or golf tournaments. That said, it's important that our carts are being used in an environment that is safe for the carts and all passengers.
